It is the policy of every hotels ensure
housekeeping briefings will be conducted every day on each shift so that
communication breakdowns are avoided and all staff are efficiently employed on
meeting the department objectives

Procedure
01. Prior to the morning shift all supervisors’
.asst. Executive housekeeper and executive housekeeper. Will hold a briefing
area from [e.g. 07.30 to 07.45]
02. The goal
of this briefing is to address the needs of other departments and guest in an
organized fashion. Giving priority to safety and delivery of services to the
hotel guests, as well as to keep in check and promote for the highest level of
staff morale towards work.
Topics to be
covered during the briefing might include.

Housekeeping staff grooming standard inspection
04. Hotel
occupancy, check out, check in, special attention guests and top vips
05. Hotel
promotions [magazine, flyers, and tent card, etc. ]
06. Any
overnight incidents that are unresolved or will have repercussions.
07. Special
events information
08. Any
priority works or unfinished jobs
09. Any major
unusual activities planned for in and around the hotel
10. Training
commitments, new staff arrivals etc.
11. General
hotel information that may have relevance
12.
Commendation for housekeeping staff though letter, web site feedback and
interval feedback from other departments
13. In the
conduct of the briefing, be sure to seek input from all attendees and to
acknowledge their ideas and concerns.
14. Also
ensure that priorities and time constrain are clearly understood by requesting
participants to recap for their understanding of their days assignments.
15. Afternoon
briefing will be held on the same manner for all evening shift in the presence
of assistant housekeeping manager, while night briefing will lead by night
shift supervisor which will be in compliance
